Utopick
Valencia, Spain
It is not possible to understand Utopick without knowing Paco Llopis and Juana Rojas. Paco is the master chocolatier while his Colombian born wife Juana brings her designer background to all that accents of his creations.
“Juana’s creative mind brings that magical touch elevating each chocolate to the pinnacle of excellence.”
She brings beauty to all Utopick’s creations from the packaging, presentation to creative ingredient suggestions. Look at any Utopick bar and Juana's artistic talent is obvious.
“That's why maybe it's necessary to make my career known to those who have not yet tried a Utopick chocolate. I was born in a pastry shop; my grandparents were already pastry chefs. I grew up in the family workshop, located on the ground floor of our house, in a town near Valencia (Spain) and I soon became interested in the masses, the cakes and, above all, chocolate. That is why I wanted to extend my knowledge with the best chocolatiers in Spain and London, such as Torreblanca and Pierre Gagnaire. Back in Spain I trained in my other great passion, photography, there I met Juana. In 2007 we made the trip to Juana’s home country, Colombia, that would change my life, there we visited a cocoa farm, and when the peasants asked me to make chocolate, I was aware that I handled many chocolate and pastry techniques, but I did not know how to make chocolate from the beans. It was in that Colombian farm where Juana and I decided that we would learn how to make chocolate from the beans and where I discovered that chocolate does not come from factories, but that chocolate grows on trees. We started on this beautiful project where we mix flavor, origin, and beauty and that has led our chocolates to receive several awards and to be present in countries such as Switzerland, Germany, China, and now the USA.”

"Together, we create our own chocolate from the beginning, looking for the best origins and through an artisanal process we manage to create flavors, aromas and nuances never before tasted."
