Pia Rivera founded Aruntam Chocolate in 2019. She is the heart of this company. She follows each step through the supply chain, from sourcing the raw materials and cacao beans through the entire processing. She creates all recipes and products in the organic certified laboratory in San Giuliano Milanese. Aruntam takes great care to preserve the natural flavors of their ingredients. They select only best cacao beans creating chocolate that is minimally processed to capture its true essence. This bean to bar company has won numerous international awards.

Italian Chocolate Maker

Pia was born and raised in a small town in the Amazonia region of Ecuador. The word Aruntam comes from a native tribe in the region it means spirit of courage. Pia feels it is this spirit that gave her the courage to create Aruntam Chocolate. It’s what drives her to know all aspects of her chocolate from sourcing the materials to creating the bars. Pia embodies Aruntam. 

Aruntam Chocolate has 3 distinct collections. Their “Cultivars” a single origin collection consisting of dark, milk and white chocolate bars. Their “Italian Life Style” series that focuses on pairing chocolate with high quality, locally grown Italian ingredients. Their collection “Faces of the World” brings the faces of the people behind each bar paying tribute to their hard work. All their chocolate collections focus on finding harmony between the taste while maintaining purity of the cacao.

In this way the independent development of the communities that cultivate this wonderful fruit is promoted. This system allows us to have total control of the channelingsystem of our most important raw material, and it is the same philosophy we try to maintain with all ingredients used in our production.”
